The Sustainability and Social Change Lab is an interdisciplinary research lab led by Sara Constantino that is located between the School of Public Policy and the Psychology Department at Northeastern University.
Our lab focuses on social, cultural, and political dimensions of sustainability challenges. Utilizing a range of methodologies, we explore research questions related to cooperation and collective action in the context of environment, climate, and social inequality; the dynamics by which social movements, norms, and narratives emerge and become entrenched (e.g. social tipping, social norms, cultural evolution, polarization); and the impacts of acute shocks/crises on communities, political behaviors, and adaptation decisions.
